GT Xizang 1991? Like my road bikes not period correct, but the best parts I could afford at the time. Deore XT 9 speed, Pace RC 38, Hope c2 brakes running adaptor for rear, American classic hubs on Mavic x717s.

Next 1993 Zaskar set up with drop bars! Got to confess I did this after seeing a couple of similar set ups on this forum. Shimano 105 groupset gives road gearing, coda wheelset, Schwalbe Kojak skinny tyres. Now I've built it not sure why I need it but had to do it just to see!

Finally GT Arrowhead parts bin special/pub bike. Only bought it as it was £20 and the red anodising matches my Edge. All the parts except the cables and levers came from casts offs from other bikes.

the xizang looks HUGE! what frame size is that bad boy? it looks bigger than a 20 inch even..

Yes it's a 20" Xizang! I'm 6'2" and it still feels a bit on the large side. It was a good price at the time.

looks like it fits you fine, given stem and post etc. its more that it looks visually large is all, and its not common to see the big ones. its a nice one. i would love a xizang..

wow i haven't seen a GT Arrowhead for ages, i was giving one at the age of 15 by my uncle and loved that bike untill i had to get rid of it, yours is a beautiful example of one well done

maybe its a sad thing to say but i love that colour on the arrowhead... i had an outpost in that red in the mid 90s , it was in the shop window and i had to have it, partly coz i wanted a gt and partly coz it looked great in that red
