Hi,
Here we have my beautiful and immaculate Marin Eldridge Grade ... of yesteryear ... or about 1991 if i remember correctly.
Here she is having a snooze in Lichfield
It's really rather fabulous and in excellent condition - some paint chips on the chain stay and a few teeny tiny scratches but other than that, I'd say it's in better condition than my year old Marin HeapOCrap that I have.
I'm hearing mixed stories about whether i still stand any chance of getting suspension forks for the front, so am also considering selling her on to an enthuisiast. I'm a little nervous of tinkering too much in case i alter the geometry too much and kill it.
So, it's here for some admiring comments and some suggestions as to what to do with her. I was offered £300 by a student !!! the last time it was out but ... couldn't bear to part with it at the time.
Its original other than the comedy gold coloured brakes that it came with, instead now having been fitted with Shimano V Brakes. the seat, crank, bars, horns, LX gears are all original. I may even have the brakes in a plastic bag somewhere <shrug>. Even the 20+ year old computer that was fitted by J E James in Rotherham on it's day of collection still works.
Uber lightweight, competition standard (in it's day) frame ... but i guess you know all that.
It shifts and stops better than it's new cousin that i have now .. so do i sell it for £301+ or spend £xx on sensible and sensitively matched forks.
Any help appreciated
Thanks in anticipation for a flood of comments about how good it looks
