SOLD: PRICE DROP Orrell 23-1/2"

Some of you have already seen mention of this. I have sold its stablemate tourer to Stedlocks - he has seen this racing bike and attested to its fantastic condition in another post (see http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=116634).

The frame was resprayed, and my uncle had it updated with a 2x10 speed campagnolo Daytona groupset, and it has not been ridden since. The brake blocks are brand new, the drive chain is unused.

The frame is excellent and responsive - it's a little big for me, but I have given it a little spin and it really wants to go. The burgundy/cherry red frame is set off with lots of chrome.

I have been over this frame very carefully and it is in A1 condition. There is a little area at inside top of the nearside seatstay where the chrome has had a little surface rust, and is blemished, but this is minor.

I want to offer this bike here, and give forum members a first opportunity to buy (if it doesn't sell quickly, I will sell via eBay).

There are more pics and details on my website: http://tinyurl.com/3aaalsc

I am asking £450 collected, or will send via courier at cost.

Just to Confirm what John says above, If you were told this was a brand new bike, you would have no reason to doubt that!

The colour is sublime with a deep shine, almost cherry red with a subtle metallic......gorgeous!

I would love this as well as its stablemate, but cannot justify another road bike........I can explain away the need for a tourer!

I am in no way connected to John, other than I have bought the other bike from him and can vouch for the fact that he is a nice bloke and has a heap of quality items that he is selling on behalf of his uncle.......Yo uabsolutely will not be dissapointed in this bike.

I might yet get this one as well......

I have just bought some new lights, so I won't be buying this......

Someone please go and look at it.........it is lovely and you will want it!

Somebody pointed out that the brake levers looked a bit strange. That was my fault since I had them on the quick release setting. I have taken some photos to show them in the correct attitude. Also I have provided some more dimensions (standover height, etc) and taken a photo with the seat pillar and stem at their maximum settings (and provided relevant dimensions). The seat pillar is a shimano 600, which isn't particularly long - a modern seat pillar could be used to give additional leg length if required.

Photos and details are at: http://tinyurl.com/38omttb for anybody who is interested.
