I know these are post '97, but I'm after some 96-97 Judy SLs or similar age Pace forks as a swap for these (not a bad swap as I'm after £120 for them as a sale!)
Mavic Crossmax XL non-disc wheelset, as seen on my Yeti:
I'll do some better photos in daylight if needed.
They seem to suffer from the affliction of many Mavic flat spoked wheels, in that the paint Mavic uses on the spokes looks tatty quite quickly. I'm sure they could be touched up quite easily (or maybe a bit of wet and dry to take the paint off - would take a while, but would look pretty
)
The ceramic braking surface is in excellent condition and hardly worn from braking at all. There are one or two chips.
One rear spoke is slightly bent near the rim, however the wheel still runs true. Replacement spokes are about £2-3 AFAIK, but it doesn't seem to be causing any problems.
Bearings seem fine, and run for ages when spun. Freewheel is good.
These can be run as UST wheels without any strips, etc. as the rims are sealed on the inside. Exceptionally light too, at about 1630 grams for the pair.
Overall, I'd say cosmetically they're 6/10 (the spokes let them down!), but functionally they're 9/10 easily.
After £130 posted, or £120 collected from near Exeter.
Or I'd swap for some 1996/97 Judy SLs or some similar period Pace forks.
