Old School Hero
Hey all,
Realised I still have this lovely old GT frame hanging in the shed & I'm trying to raise funds for another (4 wheeled) project at the moment, so I'll stick on here again before it goes on the bay.

GT LTS 1000DS frame, much better looking & better engineered than the standard LTS models; this includes the RockShox super deluxe rear shock, BB, seatpost (plus free WTB saddle), I still have a rear XT V brake for it, XT front mech, and headset (think it's a WTB GreaseGuard).

So that's all the difficult bits sorted really, you just get a nice bar/stem & front shock setup & you're pretty much there - maybe you could go for flatty bar, low stem, some SIDs, & swap the chip on the rear shock tp make it a bit X-country (I'd love to do this frankly)... or stick some big Judy XL triple clamps back on, some big risers, and bang it down the slopes :)

£150 ono - pickup from Herts (I can look at delivery for another £15 or so)
I'm riding a modern 29er now, and still miss riding this! Picture of it built up a couple of months ago.

Rear shock in great nick, damping & preload still function perfectly, and no creaks/rattles from the rear triangle:

Also... Pair of Mavic x517's

Black spokes + nipples - true'd & tightened earlier this year. New Bontrager LT3 tyres, XT rear hub + cassette, recent new front hub with modern 6 point disc mount (and free Avid disc too). WTB front skewer, XT rear.

£60 - pickup from Herts (same again, I'll look into delivery for a bit extra)

Forgot to mention size... The frame is an 18' I believe, but it's a GT 18 which seems a touch larger than most. I'm 6'0 and it's a comfortable ride and would accomodate quite a lot taller, I don't think it'd be comfortable if you were 5'10 or under really.

Cheers,

Jim
