This is a very special Gazelle.

This must be one of the last Reynolds 531 frames to have come out of the factory. I've never seen one like it personally, it is a '531 Trapezi' which features tapered seat and downtubes which increases stiffness in the bb bracket area. Looks great too. The other feature I really like about this frame is the curve in the chainstays, very nice. It also has other lovely features such as pantographing, nice seat cluster, clean cut lugs, race number, Gazelle vertical drops, etc.

There are only two scratches (pictured) on the bike which have both been touched in one on top of the top tube and the other on the side of the downtube.

Groupset is complete Ultegra 9 speed which is in great condition with only the usual crazing on the STI's letting down the visual appeal (purely cosmetic). The outer chainring has taken on a shuriken appearence but is still fine for a good few miles. Only other thing to mention is that a badge from the rear of the Rolls Due saddle is missing.

Dumb founded regarding the lack of interest in this! A true beauty at what I believe to be a very good price.

Probably Ebay it tomorrow :(

I remember having had a NOS Gazelle Team frame in white. The buyer built it up with modern carbon Super Record and it looked neat. The Team was basicly the same frame, but a little less luxurious as this Special. The Special was one step up with another fork, chrome and maybe one or two things more. I would think it is 1995 or 1996. The lugged 731OS TVM frame I had up for sale about a year ago is a little later.

Hi Tel, praise the lord it's not my size !

Does it get any more retro than that......if you get one in 58cm you know where to come.

just digging this up...found a frame and wonder if the "dent" in the seat-tube in this "special" frame might be original and thus there for a special reason...? any ideas? regards -seb.
