The opium version is meant to be the DH version of the cobalt, which is XC and there is also an AM version which is a mix of the two. When you look into it, the ONLY difference is the number of ball bearings supplied in the race (except colour on top)! The cups and seals etc are the same part. Therefore it seams pointless having less balls for xc and am when it costs the same and is only 2 grams heavier for the stronger more durable headset!
