I obtained this years ago from a friend / the original owner. Sometime in its history he decided to chrome it. The chrome is tatty now around the bottom bracket

Theres one small ding at the top of the drive side seat stay

SL is earlier and possibly slightly lighter. Nice frame, my size too but im already committed to another project now.

A non-specific reply, but probably in a similar way that 531C differs from 531DB.
It was a time of rebranding (upgrading?) Reynolds tube sets
