having a brief couple of months off last year from buying bikes, bits etc thought to myself have a look on retro see whats on.came across an ad for an ironhorse which was on ebay seen couple of pics of one over the year on google images while looking for other bikes.so i bought it.
it turned up thought great then it started she now has the name christene this one has took the longest so far i have done still not finished.
arrived rear end had had a bang at some point hanger was bent found another rear end which was in ireland
it didn't have a rear shock but had a bar made to the right i2i length of the original shock.an original marzochhi rear shock found which is from germany from guy on ebay who sold the purple ano verlicchi fs.
then came to the headset didn't realise it was 1 1/4 so trying to find appropriate one was hard which found one in poland.
now to the forks so far found some marzocchi xc 60s 1 1/4 stem great .arrived snapped bolt in the crown .finally got it repaired forks sorted there from birmingham.
thats a few things going well base of frame and forks are together had to make some bushings washers so no play in shock and frame. so i thought look for donor bike in flea bay came across another sintesi this time a thruster r won at a bargain.had some good original bits on it just nicked the seatclamp and bars of this for the ironhorse.
now the wheels came across some sun rims big mammoth on hope hubs with 5 bolt spider matching c2 brake .bargain at £30 .oh no rear hub needed rebuilding properly as well as the entire wheel brake needed full strip down and re build not a bargain as i thought but cheaper than buying a set done.
running gear at mo is modern just what i have at the time still needs things finishing back brake needs a hose, shifters, few bits not decided on front brake whether to go magura or keep cable.still got a lot to add to this but here some pics of what i can find of it on pc and phone.

Re:

Hi thanks still a way off but closer to the end than the start. Usually only take me a couple month at most finding parts and build. Been at these since December

Cool bikes ;-) Can I have some pics from the 'XC 60', please? This the second time I read about, but I never have seen them.

Re:

Hi sadly the Thruster went. I still have the Iron Horse been changed round again and still unfinished been that many bikes in between new projects and friends bikes always need doing. Not letting it go as this has been longest one by far I've never finished lol. Marzocchi forks have gone as well but still have pics will dig them out. I'll upload the ironhorse pics as she stands at the moment. Managed to find a few better bits for it and still on look out for a couple of other parts to finish.
