Since my commuter dumped me on the deck this week due to a jumped off chain I'm thinking I barely need gears anyway...

So go single lose a wee bit of weight and know where my chain is when i need it

I've just ridded my modern Identiti of its gears, and used the DMR 16t kit but didnt need a tension keeper due to sliding drop outs, DMR kit seemed alright, yet to really test it...

What would you go for to keep the chain rigid in place ? I need the cog kit and a tension keeper

any others I should consider, both these are affordable but am open minded for the right product, cheers

go for the DMR tension seeker (obviously  ) top kit. amazing price. when i single speeded my Trailstar i just used the 'Chain Reactor' that fits to the ISCG tabs and knocked it round 'til the chain was taught but obviously that requires a frame with ISCG tabs... not too sure how helpful that was but buy the DMR kit anyway :D :D :D

We sell the DMR kit in our shop. The sprockets are all pretty much the same whatever the make. I, personally, use the DMR tensioner and have had no problems with it. Just be aware if you do use it with an eighth inch chain then you will need to trim the edges of the pulley so it will fit. It is really designed for a standard derailleur chain but all real single speeds have some bodging involved somewhere!

I have used Gusset tensioners in the past and they are spot on. Can't beat a bit of Gusset in the mornin' fnar fnar

Cheers for the help, did a wee bit of reading online, I quite like the original Doofer from On-One , the 'Other Doofer' looks like the Gusset Batchelor. all the tensioners seem to get mixed review so I guess its a matter of pick one that looks good and try, or buy a new bike :D :P

Cog wise yeah many look similar but liking the spacer kit from Londonfixieshop
