Evening
I havebuilt up my first single speed project, Got the bike off freecycle(GT Palamor) used a set of V Brakes from my parts bin. Bought new bottom bracket and single speed kit from the bay.

The issue i have is that when putting power on the pedals every so oftem the chain jumps/slips can anybody answer why this is???

Thanks

Mick

probably chainline issues m8

could be chain tension ,but its suprising how much slack you can get away
with

look at the links on the sprockets to see left or right miss alignment

:D There you go..two different answers in as many replys/
I doubt it will be alignment...are you running 1/8th or 3/32 ?
What tensioner are you using?
Hit us with the full drive info :D

onza 15 tooth kit with Mr tension tensioner and 36 tooth up front on 500lx crank. Will look at chain and see if i could lose a link or too.
The idea is to sell the bike(pub/hack) due to wife issue's, says i have too many bikes. LOL

I built mine yesterday and the chain was rubbing against the side of the Gusset (not a big fan but it was free) chain tensioner and was jumping every half cycle or so. Also as said above chain tension (about 3/4" movement at the bottom of the chain seems good) or chainline. Had all of these proplems yesterday!

push down tensioner will check chain and tensioner tommorrow, Thanks gents for help will let u know how i get on.
