What we're looking for is the m739 crank that was cut down for a single speed ring only.
I think it was maybe lewis or chris that had it.Which chris and which lewis i dont know

I have the m960s that i've cut down and polished for my ss, use the HT2 bb which i find noticibly stiffer on a single speed as well.

Why faff with cutting down!

Just get a normal chainset, take off the outer and inner rings and away you go.

Purely for looks, if your chain line will cope you can always mount the chainring on the outside (where the big ring sat).

Mr. dyna-ti was just trying to explain to me how someone had modded an M739 crank to take single ring..

i did have those cranks (came from you dyna in your box of mystery) and i ran them as singlespeed on my on one for a while. fluffychicken has them now. they were modified in the sense they had an xt spider on them.
