Just wondered if anyone can help me date the year that Shimano changed from the wide profile brake arms to the narrow profile brake arms ? I seem to think it was 91/92 ?
Even the M732 where SLR (wide profile) you of course needed the SLR (aka self returning) brake levers and to set the spring in the SLR position in teh cantis.
Then the M734 where classed as Super Low profile as there is a position in between I guess (probably what is just called mid profile)
anyway this brought along the Servo-Wave 'SLR Plus', these where an option along with M732
So we are saying that for a 92 frame we are looking at 735s then... with 91 being 732s and 734s being available late on.. is this correct, ?
Its just that the 732s (wide profiles) are nicer looking and lighter than the 734 and 735s is there any major mechanical or technical benefits over the wide vs the narrow... ?
BR-M735, no such thing as far as I know.
I think 'mombat' is just the Groupset Year, so 91 stuff would be available in late '90's
Much like you can buy 2009 groupset stuff now.
Yea I would normally go M900, but I want to spec this bike all XT but I have a choice of either low profile 734s or the older 732 wide profile's .. not sure which I prefer.. the 732s are black and look really really nice, and lighter than the 734s, but the 734s are shiny and are more period.. neither of which are particularly good stoppers , but want to keep XT throughout.. .. decisions.. decisions.. :?
