...or at least the Answer variants. Can anyone point me to a guide for servicing them? (I never follow instructions so God knows why I'm asking :) )

Does anyone sell replacement elastomers? The ones in the set I have just got are either for an 800 kilo monster, or totally shot.

Cheers.

got some cool elastomers from jonnyretro.
Easy to do if you're competent and can remember what order stuff came apart in.
Basically, long 5mm down the bore under the topcaps. Undo both sides, pull legs off.

Collect up sushes/ elastomers washere/
clean everything
lube everything
assemble back on the bolts, washer, elastoners. Use the washer to pull the elastomer 1/2" down the bolt, and put the bottom bush below the stanchion, off its sholder ABOVE the washer (the washer pushes the bush back in place.
Squeeze up bush so it passes inside th top bush, and slide the legs back in.
Push it all down, tighten long bolt with the 5mm, after faffing around trying to locate it ; )

I've got a pair of ShockTechs which were UK built replicas of the Manitou 1, I've got the full manual in the garage, I'll try to scan an post it.
The tool ShockTech supplied for servicing is a piece of smallbore stainless with a 5mm allen key in the end and a round collar same diameter as the stanchion to keep it central, I'll photograph that as well!

Hope this is some good.
