Does any body know if any manufactures make a seat post shim for a 27.2 frame , that will allow me to fit a 26.8 post ?

Cheers ,

Pete .

I don't think anyone does that size. I looked a while ago for one and couldn't find one.

If you do come across one let us know

Shims are normally only for standard size posts (31.7, 27.2, 25.0)

There's nothing wrong with beer can. The precision of the thickness control in them is incredible.

Cut the metal out with scissors, hammer the edges flat, and finally run a file over the flat sheet.

Beer can ey ? mmmmmmmmmm

Would the tins from the great irish black stuff meet the exacting specs needed ?

How many tins do you reckon i will need ? It is only so i can blame you lot when i am a little tipsy and i can tell the wife " they told me to use beer cans "

Anyroad , its a ringle moby in red , and i dont wanna let it go to be honest .

And thanks for lookin' at me post .

Pete .

I just bought a shim,it was made by USE and cost £6.50 at the LBS.
I was suprised that it was plastic rather than alloy, but makes sense, less wear on the post ano,and no need to grease or check its not galled.

Their range goes up in 0.2mm increments ,starts at 25.4 and ends at 32.8
Box says, they're normally made from alloy and anodised, the larger size difference uses thermoplastic instead of alloy but their thinner are alloy
Those by the way are the outer diameter sizes, the inner diameter is either 25.0mm or 27.2mm
