Seatpost shim – pace frame

After a bit of advice really.

Finally decided that the post for my pace is a whisker too short – its a syncros 330mm and at max extension centre of BB to top of seat is still about half inch shorter than my other bikes.

I've realised the chances of finding another 29.4 syncros at a longer length is fairly small so the options are a thompson 410mm, or get a shim that will allow me to use my 27.2mm post

My question is, given the way the pace seatpost collar works, is it OK to use a shim. Does anyone have experience of a shimmed post in an RC200 frame?

see my latest answer to your previous thread. Contact pace direct or even justbackdated - Pace made a specific shim for their frames.

works just fine and dandy

Cheers mate – I'll give Pace a call on monday :D

Typical, I've only just bought a new standard seat clamp 'cause the old one was looking a bit ratty, didn't realise they did any other versions.

People shim them but I wouldn't personally..

I was lucky enough to buy a 425mm post when I bought the frame but I understand they are like rocking horse shit to find unfortunately :?
