Anyone know the seat post diameter for a Cro-Mega??
Got a couple in a box here from god knows who and where??? So I don't want to ram any old one in the frame! Something tells me it's 28.6mm??
:?
Cheers
Carl

im keen for confirmation too, will be searching for a post for my cro-mega when I find out the dia

if it's a 1990 (non estay) it'll be 29.4mm

1991 Estay = 29.4mm

1992 - ?? not in the brochure

1993 - ?? not in the brochure

hope that helps a bit? I can't see why the 92/93 Model years would be any different, but you never know.. :D

Thanks Steve, while were on the matter of year of manufacture, what on the frame number determines the YoM?? I think mine is a '92????
Thanks Carl

I've got no idea about deciphering frame #'s but if it's an OE colour it'll be a doddle.

feel free to post the frame number up and someone might just be able to help.

Yours is a '91 skinwhistle. You can tell by the rear dropouts. It's starting to look good in the black & white. Are you close to finishing it off?

yes nearly finished it, got all the bits just need a seat, and email Gil for some decals, i'm glad you like it!! i'm doing it with a mix of old and new, and hope it turns out ok??
after looking at some Alpinestars catalogues on the net i saw that mine was then a 1991, i take it the dropouts were altered due to the closeness of the chain to the stays??

The only part I have left from my original Al-mega DX is the seatpost. It's a post modern and 31.6 diameter. The cro-mega is definitely 29.4 though as I only recently built mine and had to buy a post for it. I got a NOS kalloy off ebay in 29.4 and it's a perfect fit.
