Sachs Wavey - shimano compatible ?

Yeeeees!

pre SRAM nonsense so they will work luvverly. Used them myself for a while as I had the super clicky left hand version for perfect front mech action.

Brilliant ! :D I'm planning on using the right upside down on the left, didn't really want to go down the gripshift route unless I had to !

Re:

Nowt wrong with grip shift. I use my 2x10 X0 to good effect at HONC today.

As for Wavey's, I love em, but be aware that they are very firm in the way they change gear, as the plastic detente teeth are pretty big. That can be both a plus and minus, but it does mean accidental shifts are unlikely.

I use an XO 9 speed at the moment works perfectly, but I used a first generation gripshift for about a week then straight back to thumbies !

Re:

Oh the first generation stuff was terrible.

I used an old Raleigh for a fun retro ride last year; it had very early grip shift and I ended up with a blister on the webs of both thumbs, as it needed that much effort to change.

I use X0 9 and 10 speed shifters on most of my retro's, the X0 2x10 shifters are in a class of their own in both ease and speed of operation.

Wavey's have a pretty good CLICK, but nothing like as bad as the first gen Grip shifts.
