I think the rings around the seat tube suggest 1998. Also he reckons it's Metal Matrix Ceramic, which I think was in 98 but not 97.

Pretty sure its a 97 as it has the black team sticker. No team S Works in 98. Blue team sticker 96 and black in 97.
