Rohloff carbon chain tensioner????

The Bear

Retro Guru
Good evening,

After some research I have come the conclusion that the tensioner on my recently acquired frame is made by Rohloff. However I cannot find any reference to a carbon version??

Anyone?

Yup, spot on with Rohloff...here's one I have:

but I've never seen a carbon one. They don't look like straight scanned copies though. Your carbon ones are thinner and have an extra web from axle to edge, so some thought's been put in, nice.

It's a cool tensioner, but you could have aftermarket horizontal dropouts on the Pace instead.

I think I got mine from Gil M

All the best,

As Dan says it is indeed a Rohloff.

I think poshbikes did a carbon upgrade plate a few years ago a la

Not sure you can still get them though.

Very bling

IMHO its the best tensioner available.

Thanks for the info!! A Poshbike upgrade sounds good to me!! Just wanted to know what it was for future reference...

Whose post did that pic come from? ;)

If Poshbikes don't do them any more, I'm sure John and Martin at FibreLyte (http://www.fibre-lyte.co.uk/) would oblige...
They do pretty much any other derailleur cage:

And probably a lot cheaper than a fatwad place like PoshBikes.

It was from The Bear's current For Sale, not sold yet, apparently, £20 asked...http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=163228&start=0&sid=a5b5c7e7b055de474b8096f1798084cc

Checking Back, it was Gil M who sold me my dropouts.

All the best,

next question, who am I? :)

Sorry, i thought you would realise ! Those dropouts were also from Gil, I am getting a set with a disc caliper mount on for the new frame.

Originally I just wanted to find out about the tensioner so thanks for the help, I always intended to replace the dropouts.
