Rocky Mountain Equipe Tange Steel Frame XT Pace Forks

Currently at £51 and 3 hours to go. I'd be keeping quiet and preparing to bid if it wasn't local pick up from Cheshire.

From correspondence with the seller, who seems very genuine, I think I established that this is a 1993 Equipe in size 17 (not 16 as he thinks) with the nice wishbone seat stays that they have on the smaller sizes. With a 98 respray, Pace forks, 2000 XT groupset and some 2007 parts, it seems like quite a nice bike, I'd say value c£300.

Presumably that sale fell through, as I bought it earlier this month (for £113 plus carriage).
It is really very nice, especially for that sort of money - the only thing wrong with it was that it had a nine speed rear shifter fitted, but an eight speed block. Easily remedied though.....

It actually looks a lot nicer in the flesh than in the photos, although it looks pretty good here I think ( apart from the temporary blue chainstay protector - the only one I had lying around).

I bought it for my wife (hence the flat pedals) and she loves it........and it (she?) now has a name - "Rosie"

Andy.

It's quite a nice respray too, considering how difficult it is to mimic the real RM Team colour scheme with the maple leaf colour transition. Pity there's no such thing as a matching white Equipe decal to go with it, but perhaps Gil_M could do you a 'Rosie' one instead?

There was a subsequent thread when it went back on eBay and some people were dubious about the 'development' Pace forks, but they look the part anyway, so I hope they work nicely as well!

great buy for that price.

Nice litlle bike. too small for me, but I bid more than you paid first time it was up

£113 blimey!

I was watching it but having owned a RM maple leafed frame before I didnt think the paint would be up to it (at the time it seemed to be bidding up fast)

But that does look like a really nice job

Well, I suppose even I get lucky sometimes I suppose - not very often though !
Maybe the fact that it was listed as a 16" frame put some people off (it actually is 17") plus, of course, just after Christmas and New Year isn't a good time to try and sell anything.

My wife already has a 1994 RM Blizzard, but it is currently in Greece . I thought that the Equipe looked like something she might like so I put in a bid of £120 to see what happened and ,very surprisingly, won it.
Of course , I had £30 p&p to pay on top of that but even so I'm well chuffed with it
The Pace RC35's are nice, and stuff like the Shimano parallel action brakes is worth having as well. The paint job is pretty, too (and well executed)

Although I have a 2006 RM Blizzard it's unusual to see any RM's over here (the Isle of Man) at all. I rather like that....I'm rather fond of it already

A good idea - and no sooner said than done !
She's a rather pretty bike, now everything's clean and sorted and (much more importantly) Karen loves her (how sweet is that !) . Probably because every other bike she gets to ride she sees as still being "mine". (which they are I suppose....).
I still get to do all the "fun" stuff (ie cleaning and maintenance) of course, but hey - that's a small price to pay.... 8)
