rocky mountain equipe..hornsea

started of as high/mid, got lower down as it went by but then they also started adding budget bikes to the range as well as they became ever more categorised.

what is the chaninset btw ?

P.S. 1997 I would say, frame has a touch of prestige in it, should be light at 4.5lb or less if the catalogue is correct.
suite my wife or sister this and it's only 20mile drive from me and some fish and chips
If the original chainset was on it I'd have it. But the forks are not the best (Judy C)

Thanks for those comments Ben. Might have saved me a few pounds by discouraging any potential bidders who look on here.

I shall try to make some inquiries, but I think there can be little doubt that the frame is the same as the 1997 Blizzard, and indeed the Equipe and Blizzard shared the same frame in 1996 also. The catalogue description is identical, the quoted weight is identical, the geometry figures are identical. The prices in the UK were £1,299 and £1,799 (if you could get one), as befits the different level of kit (the Blizzard had a better Judy, XT and Syncros/RaceFace bits).

Although RM was taken over by ProCycle in 1997, frame production remained in Vancouver for a while after that, so there is no doubt this frame was built in Vancouver. I don't know whether it is related to the ProCycle takeover, but at around this time RM had no UK distributor and if you wanted one the only way to get one was via Nirvana Cycles of Westcott, Surrey, who were importing them a batch at a time, to order only. That's one of the reasons why there are even fewer 1997 and 1998 Rockies in the UK than other years.

Grrrrr Anthony, It should have been mine, and if it hadn't been for me you would have got it cheaper, also my wife refused to sub me some money until payday

oh well

I hope it worked, was a cunning plan to get it cheaper myself ;)

Can I pick it up for you and err forget to send it on :D

I plainly didn't bid as it went over being very cheap.

23 bidder though
