Rock Shox Mag 21 pump. SORTED

I think from my understanding a normal schrader shockpump with a football valve thingy screwed into it would do the trick on these..?

a propper needle valve is narrower than a football pump, but it will go in. be very careful if not using a shock pump. the air chambers are tiny and it is very easy to blow the seals.

i'd hold out for the correct one.

Thanks for that Lewis, I've just been Reading up on filling forks. From what I gather 45 psi is about right. I've a track pump with gauge on it and will go gently, I'm also going to file the needle down a touch to make it slimmer.

Cheers

i rubn mine at that pressure and they are pretty firm for my (heavy) weight,

i strongly urge you not to use a track pump! they move a huge volume of air and the guages are not as accutrate as a shock pump

I'm with Dave on this one; the seals are old as it is. this is the reason the proper pumps don't come up for sale very often; people are reluctant to sell them, cause they are needed.

I might have a spare...have to look around.

We are talking about MAG forks here and not SIDS or something else ?

Just thought i would check.

MAG
The forks will easily take 100PSI but you'll easily reach that with your standard track pump, a mini pump might work. Use a needle with a hole at the end as that's where the original has it to prevent snagging along the way.
I forget it's diameter now, can measure if you want.

Maybe as in the Riding&Meets are if anyone nearby has one and pop round for a retro ride and fettle ?

Organising a ride? Meet? Event? Even a race? Post the details here.

thought there are often chat threads in there you can ask on.

All sorted, used a football adaptor. Tried on my old set of forks first, lovely jubbly thanks everyone for the posts/ideas.

Cheers
