Rock Shox Judy XC 1999

Hi,

I recently purchased a Rock Shox Judy XC on eBay.
The lowers have been repainted, i guess with a spay can paint, but suffer from paint damage.
I would like to repaint them or perhaps have them powder coated.
I guess powder coating is not a good option since there are (rubber?) bushings inside the lowers and I may get them out, but I don't know if I would get them back in.

To strip the paint and repaint the lowers I would take the wiper seals out. They are attached very firm on the lowers, that is a good thing I think, but for repainting it would be easier if they are taken off.

Does anybody know how the wiper seals are taken off?

I have some '99 XC's and I replaced the seals on mine years ago. I don't remember how I did it to be honest but I suspect I just pulled or levered them out. I didn't use any special tools I can say that for certain. I was replacing the seals though so I guess I wasn't to bothered about damaging the old ones.
