Decided to sell this as I’m a mountain bike guy and don’t have the need for a road bike. I saved the bike from being thrown away so I feel my job with the bikes done.
Fortunately I’m able to find out about the bike though Geoff Roberts and he confirmed it was built 1979/80 using 531 Super Light tubing at the Penge workshop. I’ve added a pic of the message from him.
Some parts are original (wheels and bottom bracket) with the rest being modernized a bit.
To make it a rider the bottom bracket needs tightening up (and cups swapping) and the rear wheels spoke tension needs work (very loose). Tyres are dead. No wear to the rims I can see or feel. Geoff said it was built with camp record group set originally. Have some bars and brake levers that were kindly donated to me to that come with the bike.
Scratches as shown in the pics but no dents, bends or rust.
It’s really a lovely bike that I’m wanting someone to return to road spec (as Geoff requested) and it enjoyed.
