Roadie rear mech tarty question!

Hi all,

I have the 105 Shimano rear mech as pictured and the inside cage (the one that sits closest to the cassette) is cracked a little. Still functions fine but I wondered what my options are.

I was wondering if the cages from Dura ace mechs fit them? If so can I use one like this?

Or the one from Fibre-lyte?

Or what are my options?

Cheers

I would think, yes.

If you want to increase the tart factor of your bike remove the plastic spoke guard.

Cheers mate.

Hahaha that's not my bike. My mech came from the bin at the bike shop and looked like it was submerged in mud/oil and is scratched like mad.

I cleaned it up this weekend and replaced the jockey wheels and then found the cracks.

I am not so much trying to replace the cage to tart it up as opposed to replacing the cracked original.

I am trying to make the bike safe after my single speed tensioner broke and I ended up breaking a couple of toes so I am adding gears from scrap I have lifted from the bins.

Are there other cheaper options?

For that kind of money I'll sell you a very tidy R-1050 retro 105 rear mech.

PM it that's interesting...

I don't think it'll work with 10 speed and I've done up the rest of the mech already you see so it'd be silly to throw away my hardwork now.

Thank you though.
