Ritchey P23

Nice build (except maybe the cranks). I always liked the no-nonsense, understated approach Ritchey took.

And it looks like the seller knows what he is doing. Kind of refreshing lately!

I bet it's a resprayed GT ;)

Haha...it wasn't GT enough for Kevin to keep

That Ritchey can be seen in the Reader's ride section here on retrobike...GM's ride.

I like the black m730 crank on this bike. It's not a high priced chi chi one, but it's period correct, and hard enough to find in great to mint condition.

Interesting. I didn't know Shimano made a black XT crank. Thought it was LX.

Yes, Ritchey sold the m730 kit in all black through their catalogs, sort of like a special edition. It was black with the engraved shimano in white.

The LX cranks you speak of were much later, and the white lettering was just painted on. They were cheap and common, but curiously not any heavier than an xt crank of the same year.

Obvious it didn't. Time to wrap it up and put it in the attic for ten years :D

not obvious...I find BINs don't always indicate what people truly expect for their item. Sorry, cool bike though...too bad it won't be ridden.
