RIP Daily Sport

Of course, the Sunday Sport and Daily Sport attracted as many critics as they did loyal readers, but then again newspapers like that will always have more than their fair share of knockers.

I'll get me coat.

To be honest, I encountered the said 'newspaper' a few times in transport cafes, and have to say it contained some of the most filthy and misogynistic imagery I have ever come across.

Best headlines?

Lancaster bomber found on the moon, and London bus found at the North Pole.
Loved the way you could see the join in the photos, especially the one of Roy Orbison in a dress!

In my thankfully limited experience of the two Sport titles, you're pretty much spot-on there. Still, I guess any redundant Sport staff should have no trouble getting jobs at Talk Radio working with a certain disgraced
(s)ex(ist)-Sky Sports duo [1]....

In a previous existence I worked in my local Co-op- still got their fleece I use it for gardening- and one day a customer came in and asked if he could put in an order for the Sunday Sport. Our manager Andy was apsolutely appalled at this, he had to invent some lame excuse about the wholesaler not stocking it, and then spent the rest of the day chuntering about it. I think he was more would have been less offended if the customer had just been a shoplifter. I always thought it was quite harmless, compared to the steady stream of bile and poison dripped by Rupert Murdoch.
