Rigid Stumpjumper

I think I bought my rigid Stumpy about 1997/98. It's steel called Nitanium. There are some scrapes where the chain came off but it hasn't rusted. Does this type of steel not rust?

I can assure you that it does rust.

The frame may have been treated with a rustproofing.

Certainly is. That colour just pops in the sun.

Nitanium was a brand name for Ritchey cromoly tubing:

TIG-Welded, double-butted Ritchey “Nitanium” Chromoloy steel.
“Nitanium” is apparently a steel alloy containing trace elements of Titanium and Niobium for the purpose of improving weld-strength
