I haven't heard much of them now (200, but then I dont buy MBUK etc.
BITD I raced them and loved them, they were a good upper end bike, especially the DBR branding.
Kev (jango) and Kev (MadCowKev) are DB and DBR gods on here.
Genesis are Madison I believe. Pretty good actually.
DiamondBack is now part of Raleigh. Produce some nice enough bikes. The Axis seems good value at £899 but the Axis Team with a replica of the 1991 Team Pro green splatter paint is overpriced at £3k!
Still not a fashionable brand though. When I was a young kid everyone wanted a DiamondBack Harry Leary BMX
As for retro DB and DBR I had loads and still have a soft spot for them. MY main ride is currently a 1995 DBR Axis TT. The best looking ones though were the 1989 white/smoke Axis and the 1991 green splatter Axis Team Pro. Either in a 20/21" would be a welcome addition to my shed!
My dad had an early 90's Ascent ex (I think) black frame with pink flecks on it, He did a few upgrades on it like xt shifter/lever combo's, and Mag 21's. The bike is still going strong now and on its 3rd owner.
Mine is great, I half bought it because it was cheap and knew i'd make a few quid if i shipped it on. Instead i've spent loads of money on it and am riding in preference to my others
