Retro commuter/gravel grinder build

Dirt Disciple
So I have the option of a 12.5 mile tarmac commute or a different route that is 15 mile and 25% tarmac to 75% gravel river bank. I've had roadies and hated them so decided I needed a retro mtb in my life. I've always loved the look of older bikes so hit eBay. This is what I found. £200, aluminium so light and a right funky colour as well. The XT brakes were also a bonus.

Next it was time to get it looking like the head down, arse up speed machine I had in mind. More eBay searching found this. Full lx/XT groupset, formula wheels and absolutely mind condition.

A pair of P2's were bought and treated to a rattle can paint job and some new decals (I know the colour is wrong and so are the decals but they were powder coated royal blue when I got them). A set of silver bars and stem along with some XT levers were found in the shed and a set of schwalbe city jets fitted.

Now I just need a silver seat post and a nicer saddle to finish it off. Maybe a set of handlebar extensions if I feel they would help once I start using it.
