Anyone have any info regarding the range and also the prices around the 1993 mark?

Just interested to see how expensive these really were?

Got a 94 price list in German...probably not much use to you though??? (you would need to figure out the exchange rate for DM vs. GBP)

They were quite pricey BITD, up there with Kleins and Funks for the higher end models....

I came very close to buying a Cirrus from what was then Klimbhigh Cycles in Daventry in 1992 (now Lesiure Lakes) and it was way over £2500 for a full build.

The Ti-Bolt was more than twice the price of anything else though (assuming this is where your search is heading....).

1993 range was:

Altitude, Ti-Bolt, Vertex, thin Air, Stratos, Blizzard, Equipe, Hammer, Fusion, Metro, The Edge, Tantalus/Thunderbolt and Road Wedge (all specs available if you want them.......)

Ah cool - well done Neill. I bought my Kona Lavadome from Klimb High Cycles too. Nice place - very boutique - seemed to deal with Konas and Rocky's there.

I always remembered them being expensive too.

I have PDF's from 1989 right up to 1996 (too modern for me after that  ) for all the Rocky Mountains if they are of interest ??? (total file size 23mb if you want them emailing to you).

These contains colour pix, detailed specs and some pricing info.

Klimbhigh IIRC did Alpine Stars, Mountain Goat, Rocky Mountain, Funk (I think), all the boutiquey stuff and were Pace Status One dealers.

Steve who ran it packed it all in to run some bike/trekking 'thing' in another country I think.

Yeah I remember Steve - short chap? Rode a Ti bolt I think too? We went with them in a van to Cyclex back in the day for one of the shows. Good fun that was.

If you could mail me them that would be good - most mail servers will kick out anything over 10 meg so if you would be a real special mate and send them in several mails that would be excellent. Appreciate it if you get a moment but dont worry if your busy ;)

I'm pretty sure that the Ti-bolt's list price was £3099. The reason I remember is that I saw a tiny advert where (I think) the distributor was selling them (the previous years model) for £1899. I remember wanting one purely due to the savings! Never managed it though!

Did the distributor go belly up in the early-mid nineties?

Well, if it's of any interest, on 19th April 1994 I bought my first Blizzard direct from Rocky Mountain via a firm of accountants called Smith Holloway. They dealt with the payment but I was in contact direct with RM in Richmond B.C. regarding specification etc.

It was shipped direct from Canada to Heathrow with Union Air and from Heathrow to here with Manx Airlines. It was a 17" 1993 Blizzard being sold at a reduced price and at that time there was no British importer - the payment was made out to Rocky Mountain UK.

The reduced price was £895.

I still have it by the way, although at the moment it is in Greece - awaiting my arrival in just under four weeks 8) .

Yeah, that sounds familiar. It was something very unusual anyway. Had the feel of a scam about it although it obviously wasn't. The only place I saw it advertised was a 1/4 page ad in one edition of either MBUK or MBI.
