Restoring old powder coated frames

Powder coat is basically baked on plastic, Any tricks or things to avoid when restoring it?

The frame I'm working on is in generally very good condition, a few chips etc, but you can tell by looking at areas that were protected and shielded from the elements that it was once much shinier.

Is it possible to bring that shine back to the surface the way it can be with some old paint?

Same as any other paint from my experience. Paint renovator, polish, wax.
