I initially restored this for my daughter and had only finished by a couple of weeks when good lady wife decided to part with her Kona explosive. After a bit of family negotiation the daughter now has the Kona and the overbury is up for sale.The resoration was carried out because we had had the overbury for a few years and daughter was convinced she was never ever ever going to part with it.( Those parents among us will now nod sagely and look understanding )Because it was for her the restoration was comprehensive. The frame was shot blasted and checked over at Chris Marshalls workshops and then re sprayed. Following that the tubes were wax oiled intrnally. The sizes are b/b to top of top tube
16" plus a 2" seat tube extension. The top tube is 21 1/4 c-c. Stand over height at centre of top tube is 29 3/4". The tube set is believed to be columbus. The chainset ( round rings )and both mechs plus the hubs are deore dx. The hubs were fitted with industrial stainless steel bearings from new and as a result are silky smooth.These have been stripped and re greased at restoration.New at time of restoration are the deore v brakes with avid levers,suspension seat pin, bottom bracket and girvin alloy flex stem( nos.).Also all the cables and outers .Gear changing is via xt thumb shifters The only thing not stripped and serviced are the xt pedals as there was some talk of her trying clipless There are a couple of tiny touched in chips to the paint that you would have a job to find.The bike rides superbly and corners as if on rails as you would expect from a hand built frame. Everything works perfectly. It is ready to ride away. Looking for £270 for it. You could collect ( Harrogate area ) or will post at cost. No silly offers please. there has been too much work gone into this and considering who it was done for it has been done very carefully indeed.
