Repair: Chain slip at high torque

It appears that the slip has damaged the sprocket teeth quite quickly, it's only going to get worse i guess. It must be a poor quality cassette.

The chain slip problem could be caused by using non index gear cable outers. These change length slightly as they bend and so cause gear slippage. Have a look at the outers and make sure they are proper non-compression sis outers - if they are not then you need to swap them and you should find things improve.

Check how the Der pulley cage is fitted together, I have experienced the pulley bolts coming loose and having play in the system causing the chain to catch and 'pull', feeling like a slip.

It's a new jagwire outer for the rd loop, and a new cable. I also greased the front loop which is original to the bike i think.

Swapped in another rear wheel with a proper shimano cassette and BANG - the slip is gone.

Thanks for all the input. Going to swap the cassettes.
