Have a very nice pair of NOS Ritchey skinwall tyres that I want to fit to a new project for some proper photos. Problem is the black tread part of the tyres are covered in the white residue of the release film they use to stop them sticking to the mould during vulcanisation. I have tried Muc-Off, degreaser, hot water & washing up liquid, disk brake cleaner, stiff nylon brush plus combinations of all of them together. Cannot get the stuff off the tyres. I know what will clean them, a wet muddy ride will get them in pristine condition but I don't want to do that. Anyone tried, and succeded, in removing the stuff?
