removing scratches from discs

Not braking discs
There appears to be so many different methods of removing scratches from CD / DVD
who's got a method that works?

Years ago I cleaned up a really badly scratched Youssou N’Dour CD with Brasso. It took ages but eventually removed all visible marks.
Although the CD played before it definitely sounded better (more relaxed) afterwards
