tried soapy water but marks are real ground in so need something slightly moe abrasive but dont want to ruin a nice set of campy rims!!!

nail polish remover removes almost every thing. But take the tyre off first :D

wedge a piece of 3m scotchbrite between the rim & brake pad. ride 20m with the brake firmly on. hey presto mega clean sidewalls :)
do 1 sidewall at a time.

I have used nail polish aswell does do the job butcan be a pain in backside having to remove tyres all time wd40 gets the deep stuff aswll just gotta let it work in a bit befoe cleaning off

Cleaning rims

Hi, the best product I've found is brake and clutch part cleaner for cars. It is designed to clean car discs and as such the formula doesn't affect your sidewalls. It costs £4-5 at the autoshop and really gets rid of all the residue. I use kitchen towel to wipe it offand apply it about three times per side (you'll be amazed how much comes off!). I've just finished a can and will definately be going for another. The brake blocks can also be cleaned with it and the improved stopping is instantly noticeable. Hope this helps, Croydian.
