removing BB axle from M970 cranks?

Am I able to remove the BB axle completely from a pair of XTR M970 cranks at all please? I'd like to get them re-ano'd. Thanks.

I thought that part was in to stay :-(

If you could in some way press it out, I would be concerned if it would go back as securly as it was before it was removed ?

It's in for life. Could it not be masked, or coated with something to protect it?
