"Red S" Brakes - anyone know anything about them?

Hi all,

Picked up a Peugeot PKN10e at the weekend as a donor bike (proper knackered frame - top tube drilled for internal cable routing, cable mounts hacked off and bent forks!).



The brakes and levers are branded "RedS" - can't find reference to them anywhere as a brand. Anyone got any ideas? Anyone heard of them before?

Back in the day this used to be a Madison catalogue brand, beyond that I know nothing.

If I remember I'll dig out the freewheel catalogues later,i've got a Red S headset somewhere.jm.

As Roadking says in the early 80's they were generic groupsets in the Madison comic if you bought one of their complete bikes they offered, it had Red "S" as default kit in as if you didn't specify different it came so equipped Don't know the manufacturer.

Its not bad kit, I have a set of their MTB / Touring chainsets
