Got a new build about to start and need a seatpost and stem.

What I am looking for is suggestions for alternatives to the default option of Thomson. Similar quality and price ideally, but may be prepared to spend a bit more if it looks special enough! And I always love a bargain.
Oh, and they really need to be silver.

What bike are they going on? Ritchey tend to get my vote as well - although WCS carbon is my usual p*rn of choice, so I'm keen to see the alternatives in silver too...

My utter fave at the moment is syntace stuff, its very understated but beautifully made. I recently bought one of their carbon seatposts and the quality is second to none.

Funny, I never really look at Ritchey stuff except for the budget end for cheap builds. Not really sure why. Maybe just because they do stuff at the cheaper end?

Carbon is a no-no, and not just because I want silver.

The frame is a 40th birthday present to myself, so it's quite a nice one IMHO (hardtail 29er). Cranks, hubs and bars are all silver so that is really the theme. Looking forward to hearing more suggestions.

Syntace Megaforce 2 looks quite nice, but it seems they don't do it in silver. :(

Syntace gear is the daddy for sure, totally with you there. Immaculate is the word that comes to mind 8) Real shame about the lack of colour options though.

Its odd it never seems to get more of a mention but I guess the lack of glitz puts a fair few off.

If you dont like Matt black then I suppose you are out of luck...
