unless i can use the front caliper as the rear, this is what i need...

any brand will do, i have a Tektro front cable caliper - but unsure if i can use this as the rear?

any condition will do as long as its functional.
just trying to get a bike back on the road.....

thanks

You can indeed use a 'front' as a 'rear' as they are - almost without exception - the same!

It's normally just a matter of getting the correct mounting adaptors.

If you have PM calipers and IS frame/forks then - handily - a 140mm IS adaptor = a 160mm front IS adaptor, a 160mm rear = 180mm front, 180mm rear = 200mm front etc. Or so I've found, liberal use of washers notwithstanding.

Oh and if you have a front PM fork then you don't need an adaptor at all if you're mounting a 160mm rotor and a PM caliper.

Hope this helps!
