Ok guys, so I know I've read stuff on here before, but can't find it for looking now.

What options are available to me for getting a frame repainted?

It would be the front triangle of a steel full sus bike. I've heard the term "powder coated", but I don't know what it involves or what other options there are, please fill me in.

Powder coat= tough (single colour) refinish for about £30 including stripping.

It involves putting a static charge into the frame which attracts a layer of (basically) plastic powder. This is then heated until it melts and produces your 'painted' finish. You can see why it's tough, it is literally a coating of plastic.

Downside is, if you get rusting under the finish it will be hidden and is likely to go undetected.

Wet spraying involves traditional paints and enamels. It produces (when done right) much deeper gloss and can be had in an infinite number of colours. It can also be fancy patterns (Groovy Cycleworks 8)).
It's not as hard as Powder and will chip, but it looks sexy and costs lots! expect to pay upwards of £100 for a single colour from the likes of Argos.

Oh the other advantage of powder coat is there will be an industrial finishers near you who can do it.

That'll do, cheers buddy, well it'll be powder coating then. Just a case of finding one I can drop the frame off to, and working out what colour to make it!

Have a look on Yell.com to find a local powder coaters.

and if you search for RAL colours on't net you can choose a standard colour.
