That frame has made the rounds on the 'Bay from even further back... the old ebay link in this thread (copied here) doesn't work anymore, but I remember it as the same frame because it had a weird sticker on the headtube that didn't come with the bike. The bike came with a crappy Diamondback metal stick-on badge.

I actually bought one of these bikes myself, fully built-up, last year... for a steal from a bike shop in the middle of nowhere... although £3000 squids retail IS/WAS a lot for a diamondback, the full XTR and top-of-the-line FSA carbon bits everywhere, and the £1300 full carbon-rimmed Cole Aries wheelset are what brought it to such a high retail price. Not all bikes around that price range have such top kit included. As you can imagine, most diamondback dealers were unable to move the bikes to their regular clientele and were later allowed to sell them cheap by Diamondback HQ. I swooped in for the kill!
That said, I parted the bike out to put its bits on various other bikes - and rebuilt the frame using cheaper parts. I gave it to my old man. He loves it.
I'll say this though - I rode the bike as originally spec'd for a month or so, and it was FAST. Super light, at under 21 lbs with flat pedals (advertised at 21.9 without pedals but actually came to 20.6 on my own scale, go figure)... the thing goes where you point it. Quickly!
And to top it off, the axis team green splatter paint job is WICKED! Everyone asks if I had it done custom... and it's not just the annoying fluoro-loving hipsters in London-town!

Most of all, I think it's just RAD. I know it's not to everyone's taste but it's just so outrageous it's cool.
I think the current price is a bit rich, but it is a GREAT frame with a beautiful paint job... I'd buy this one too if it were around 150.
