(RC200 question) At the risk of sounding like a tool...

Any of you Pace-meisters know what size seat post I need to fit my RC200 f7?

I've measured it and it appears to be 29mm, but is my measuring method rubbish because I haven't seen any 29mm seatposts yet?

Also at the risk of sounding like a tool, what does the terms NOS and Bump refer to? I keep seeing them here in Retrobike world....

Oh yeah....

NOS means New Old Stock, i.e. vintage but is brand new looks like it's out of a bike shop stuff.

'Bump' is a way of keeping your post to the top of a forum so that nobody forgets what you've got for sale or want etc.

Not 'tool' questions, quite valid IMO 8)

Seatpost: 29.4mm

NOS: New Old Stock - i.e. parts that were manufactured a long time ago but have never been used.

Bump: means "I'm replying to my own message to put it back to the top of the list where everyone will see it"

You are, quite simply, the finest examples of mankind.

Cheers for that chaps much appreciated.

Boothy,

Also available was a narrower post clamp with shim (sorry too lazy to dig through the loft to measure one)

Definitely 29.4mm OD

At risk of hijacking the thread, this seems to be completely related to my question too.

Stick Legs, you make reference to using a shim with a 27.2 – this is what I'm thinking of doing as my 330mm syncros is too short.

Is a shim an OK solution with the pace frame? I know some manufacturers don't like shims used on their frames

I bought my RC200 2nd hand, it came with a shim, I continued to use the shim and (touch wood) have had no adverse effect after 2 years, and I am a heavy git!

Cheers fella – I take it this is a bog standard shim, not the integrated-with-clamp pace one that Radar is talking about – sound ideal for me (fairly sure sjs cycles has 29.4 shims in stock).
