Range/model guide ?

I wonder if a guide might help?

I know we can't list every model of every year but for some makes it seems to be plauseable. For example my bv is about halway up the range and I remember someone showing the range from the base model through to the top model.

For some of the popular makes I wonder if a range guide would be possible? if it is then possibly a sticky for newbies or the less informed to go to and see what model is what?

It's a nice idea, but would take up a huge amount of space on the forum, plus there are not that many original spec bikes on the forum, so it would be a bit of a mish-mash of specs of the bikes

There is however the retrobike gallery with lots catalogues from manufacturers, catalogues keep popping up all the time in there & it is a great resource for those who want to do a bit of research or just drool over the bikes & parts in there

Sylus, If we had a Wiki attached to the forum it would be more viable but of course that would take people to enter it, check it and correct it. Let alone use it.

But just ask and someone would say if they knew. I have posted up the range of steel bikes for Marins for one year before BUT all I did was use what I new was ~the range layout look in the catalogue in the archive and hey ho there was the list for that year. Without the catalogue the list couldn't be precise and based on 10/20/30+ yr ageing brain cells.

So all in all we have he guides for the ones we know about, they're in the archive. Just need more members to stumble across the catalogues and scan the them all in.

Of course that's my opinion :D and not sure I want yet another sticky and having to scroll even further down the page to see the new talk. It's already annoying as it is.

and few people read the Bike FAQ's section I would guess.
