This is one I brought from a bad ebay listing as I required something to build for a commuter for a pal, described as a Raleigh bike & not far from me I spied the dx rear mech & chainset but also the V brakes.
Either way I thought it'd be worth a bid & suprisingly ended up owning it!
I went to collect it & the owner had had it from new, not only that but he'd collected some n.o.s parts a few years previously to put it back to how it'd been when he got it but had never got round to doing it. He'd decided to give it one go on ebay as he didn't have the heart to take it to the dump!
I got it home & took it for a ride, I liked it, I liked it alot. Looked like it was staying.
on closer inspection the V brakes turned out to be 960 xtr job so they came off & were sold
Next job was to remove the front mech then fit up the n.o.s dx canti's & front mech,
I removed the brake levers & shifters & piched some dx jobs from something else in the garage.
Sadly the Brooks branded gel saddle had seen better days so that was retired & a selle italia is filling the gap, a pair of matching tyres saw us about finished!

Re:

I like it. I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for 90’s Raleighs as they were made quite local to me.

That's a nice looking Raleigh, nice colours and quite unusual in that it isn't a standard model. I bet it rides very well.

It looks like it could have been a warranty replacement for an early 90s Dynatech, because the DX groupset and threaded fork would have been from 93 or earlier, but the frame is a Reynolds Optima welded steel frame which was came in to replace the lugged steel and titanium RSP frames in 1997 or thereabouts.

The paint job looks like the owner asked Raleigh to copy the 1994 Dynatech Diablo, which many consider to be the best looking Raleigh RSP paint job ever.

Thanks for the info, when I picked it up the owner told me it was a technium chill, even with my limited knowledge I knew they were all made by Raleigh Usa & totally different. It rides very well especially considering I'm more used to riding a smaller frame with a longer reach.
