Raleigh RSP250

RCUTLER

Retro Newbie
I have the above bike and have done since new. Its done over 60,000 miles or mix of on and off road. The bike runs well as has been well looked after however the paint is slowing giving up.

The rear drop outs and the forks are loosing paint and flacking off so I have decided it is time to get a respray done.

Can anyone suggest a good respray place also would you strip down the forks and get them resprayed or purchase new ones? I have had trouble locating good suspension forks with brake bosses.

Given the cost of a respray the bike will no longer remain the old green colour but if someone knows of some graphics that look nice it might swing my opinion.

Thanks for your replies.

Hi, the bike's a 1999, so you might get a better response here:

However the best bet would be to pm Bikemiester2000 he's the resident Raleigh expert and he might be able to hook you up with some replacement graphics. As far as resprays go, there's a recent thread that should be around recommending different places with testimonies from people who have used them.

I'm not sure about the forks you've currently got, but if I was you I'd go for some Z2's. They're the best late 90's forks I've ever used and you can pretty much get them in any colour. They'll come V or disc compatible too.

I Like the original colour, very ...erm, noticeable 8)

Forum member Gil_M can supply the Raleigh graphic, as I had a couple made by him for my 1999 853 road bike.

Have fun with the rebuild.
