Lovely bike, I sold it to a mate to commute on this year. He's got himself a road bike for fun :?  and moving away from innercity so commutes will be tough, so its for sale again.

Anyone interested I'll pass it on.

its hardly used till last year so in decent condition, had couple new service bits, sitting on continental road tyres, with good branded XC riser (yeah I know!) bars I still have the magenta alloy baton flatties if needed. :)

Located in Manchester.

WOW, there's a blast from the past - I borrowed one of these for a while just before I got my Cinder Cone... Somehow I managed to buckle the downtube about an inch from the headtube joint!!

Still, the owner replaced it with an Orange Clockwork, so I did him a favour really ;)

A friend of mine has the top of the range version called, I think, the "Peak", graphite black, factory fitted custom painted graphite black RockShox mag 20`s with flouro yellow decals (The really old ones which ran down each leg). He used it a few times in 1991 and it has been sat in garage ever since.

Apex

Yeah, had one too! Stripped it completely down and got some Burner dropouts brazed on.Woz my my singlesppeed winter warrior for a few years! Unfortunately now sold.Knees couldn't take it anymore! Will post a picture of it sometime. Max

Cheers for the comments, i wasn't here for long before i actually sold it.

I think I remember the peak. 8)

Its a great bike yeah, single speed could have worked, i took off the front mech at least, its back on now. it was too small for me to commute on, though i did for about a year. 17" frame IIRC handles commute and XC alright. quality bike. Not sure what it would be like with heavy riding, but rest assured its never had any. ;)

Its got a new Giant seat too, actually comfier than the WTB on my revolution. Big bad quality thremoplastic mud guards too ;)

I hope someone sees the potential, I have not talked £ with my mate but imagine he wants about a ton. :)

my brother had one of these and i used to train on it,

he swapped it for a pool table (a proper one from a pub) with the kid next door, as the kid next door wanted to go on bike rides with my brother,

it wasn't until the kid next door got the bike that he realised my brother wouldn't be able to go for bike rides with him as he had no bike,

makes me chuckle even now,

Bump! He's not told me its sold yet, but has moved house last week, any interest? perfect commute/training retro bike... ;)

correction- misspent youth

so the top of the line was the Summit - and it had the original Rock Shox, not the Mag 20, which came in the following season...the Peak was a Teal blue jobbie....My Bro had the Apex with the original Girven Flex Stem..And the following year Raleigh brough in Dynatech...dodgy Russian teapots anybody?
