thought this was another hoax to start with, but yeah i do lose a fair bit of sympathy when it's because they stuffed drugs etc up their nose/down their throats/into their veins etc.

harsh but true.

People cope with their demons in different ways, some the bottle, others the needle and more still by posting gibberish on internet forums. Doesn't make it any less tragic. RIP.

He won an Oscar ten years ago, yet I had to google his name. The film parts didn't exactly come flooding in. Maybe that's why.
Or maybe it's because he's just human, with the same frailties the rest of us have.

I agree it is a true tragedy for his family and I have nothing but sympathy for them. It just real gets my goat that so many die of drugs so much wasted talent

It is a waste of life and talent, but as already been said some people struggle with day to day life, and use anything for a little escape, and at times those escapes aren't enough.

I knew who he was as I loved the film Capote, it is a shame that anyone does that to themselves, rich and famous or slumped on the street in rags, they are or were someone's child and I feel for them and the families that have had to deal with it.
